Just a vent... about Grindr.

I've been on it for about a year. I hate it. I mean, sometimes I love it, but most of the time, I just want to smash my phone.

Some people will say just about anything they can to get to you.

Most people won't read your profile. Or, if they do, and see a clear boundary you set, they think it doesn't apply to them.

I finally stood up to someone half my age today. He bombarded me with a stream of questions, some of which could have been answered by reading my profile, but he was just spitballing until he could hear something he wanted. Then he started pushing to meet. And my profile says quite clearly, "Face photo absolutely required." His, naturally, was a faceless profile. A box of black pixels.

I said, "Did you read my profile, son?" He said, "Yes."

I quoted the requirement. "I need to know you're taking me seriously before I begin discussing dates."

He produced a photo of a handsome young lad drinking pints. I assume it was him. Then came more questions. And then, did I have any photos to share. I shared them. He never replied again.

This, gentlemen, is a classic example of someone wasting your time. If I had fallen for his shenanigans and booked in with him, I 100% guarantee he would have ghosted me, or simply not showed up. At least I nipped it in the bud.

I've met some good people on Grindr. But the above sort of people have more than earned Grindr a shitty reputation. I really wish some people would grow the fuck up.
