My divorce with Meta is getting ugly.
Apparently when you stop using their apps 150+ times a day, they get a little suspicious when you log in again, even if you never logged out.
What was I doing with all my free time? Cartooning. I brought three of my backburnered cartoon strips to life and made a total of 15 strips, 3 of each to be rolled out on a weekly or every-other-week basis. Of course I had to make a new Neocities page for them to live on. I was having a blast!
So I went to my Instagram account that I use for my artwork, and modified my profile to include the above mentioned new website. This was the night before the strips were to launch. Not that I expect a ton of visitors, but I at least wanted to give followers a way to view them. I saved the link, tested it out, and then BONK. They logged me out. Everywhere.
They wanted me to prove I was a human before letting me back in. "We sent you a code to WhatsApp."
It never arrived. I asked for another. That one too, never arrived.
I took the option of using SMS instead. Still nothing.
I used their AI assistant to try to get some answers. They eventually stopped talking to me after allegedly transfering me to a real person, which incidentally, never happened.
I went over to my WhatsApp and asked THAT AI assistant if it knew why I wasn't getting the messages. Long story short, I was able to recover the account, but still can't get in because the function that sends the codes is now frozen for 3 days. And all this time, nobody can see my profile. Because they think I tried to hack myself. As a non-human bot or something.
Fuck Meta. I am so tired of this bullshit. Its not like they were going to give me traction anyways.
Meanwhile, back over to Facebook... I posted about my new toons there. But apparently because I was directing people off their platform, the post was deprioritized and not shown to much of anyone.
