Greetings From The Emerald Isle

Well! That's Hiberno-English (Kilkenny style) for "Hello"

I landed here on 1 Jan 2025 and it's been a wild year and a half of settling in to our new home. For a while, I wasn't able to log in to Flounder to make an update, but lo and behold, today was the magic day that Chrome decided to prefill my old password from the http side. So here I am. Yaaay!

It's taken this long for me to come back around to the idea of.... tired of being the product. Moreso, I am pretty much tired of knowing that every swipe of my phone is building some unseen profile of myself in the hands of big tech. Like, so tired of it, that I dusted off my old Sony Walkman in hopes that I can get off of Spotify and get back to analog music. Lord, have you priced a walkman on eBay lately? I am sitting on at least $150 or more! Hope the damn thing doesn't break!

I posted previously about my old IBM PCjr machine. Unfortunately, I had to part with it (and so much more) before the move. We brought the bare minimum of personal belongings with us. I HAVE succesfully emulated my old machine using 86box. And true to the original, it needs frequent rebooting. Unfortunately, there is no old fashioned FN-B(reak) key on my keyboard (emulation). But what fun otherwise.

If you chatted with me previously on mIRC, my original trial license has expired. I may pay into it to get back in there, but for now, please say hi via my email link on my profile.

Cheers.
